This one keeps the classic red, but pairs it with a deep black sherpa cuff and a tall barrentina shape for a moodier, more low-key holiday look.
This hat is perfect if you like Santa vibes without the costume-y white fur and pompom – or if you just want a seriously warm winter hat that happens to be red. Traditional mariner style
• Handmade red barrentina-style stocking cap
• Deep black sherpa cuff is soft, plush, and extra warm over the ears
• Taller crown than a basic beanie so it can slouch or stand with a bit of attitude
• Unisex design – looks great on men, women, and anyone who runs cold
• Comfortable stretch fit, sized to fit most adult heads (about 22–23.5 inches)
• Great for Christmas markets, après ski, winter walks, and casual holiday outfits
• Easy to pack and wear all season.
Each hat is cut, sewn, and finished in my little workshop in the North Country. No two will ever be completely identical, but that’s part of the charm of a handmade piece.
Care
Spot clean or machine wash cold on gentle. Lay flat to dry. Do not iron the sherpa.
If you need a larger size or a different color combo, send me a message – I’m happy to chat about custom options when time allows.

Most of my hats can be made in any size you can get me a measurement for. I do not make hats for babies or small children, these ages have special laws for the materials an other trims that can be used. I have made hats large enough to fit the mascot costumes of teams. More generally I have made hats that fit those with extra large heads.
Most of the fabrics I use are stretch fabrics so there is a little give in the sizing.
For measurement, measure around where you want the bottom of the headband to fit.
If you are interested in wholesale, please contact me. A wholesale order must be for 15 items or more.

First off, send me a conversation detailing what you want customized. A change to the size, color, trim, or a different design.
I will contact you back within 24 hours.
We then have a conversation about what can be done.
I have a huge studio with over 500 bolts of fabric, plus trims and yarn, so I can generally turn around in 2-3 days since supplies are on hand.
Once we have worked out the details, I will make the item. Send you photos.
Once I get your approval, will then create a custom listing and send you a link.
Once the item is paid for will ship.
If the customization is minor, like switching a pompom for a tassel, I may just have you purchase the existing item with a note to seller.
Bring me your ideas!
Sale prices do not apply.
Mountaingoth hats are only sold under the name of Mountaingoth, if you search the web and the seller is not Mountaingoth, it's a counterfeit.
Unfortunately there are sites that steal the photos of Mountaingoth hats from the web and set up scam websites claiming that they sell Mountaingoth hats, including stealing copies of reviews.
Yes you can. Hats are generally trimmed at the time of shipping. So if you want to change the color of pompoms or tassels. Switch to a different style of bell. Want to leave the tips blank, just send a message. Note that some trim may have a surcharge.
Orders over $250 dollars are not accepted by Mountaingoth and will be canceled. The protection offered by Etsy only covers up to $250. If you wish to make a larger purchase, you will need to break it into smaller orders which are each less than $250, this is for your protection to stay within the limits of Etsy protection.
Yes it really is my name. Married Mr. Love over 20 years ago and took his name. Funny how I'm always getting asked how to spell it.
