A soft, slouchy wizard hat for stargazers, wandering mages and anyone whose wardrobe could use its own constellation.
This handmade wizard hat is made from deep navy blue flannel scattered with metallic gold stars. Its long pointed crown is intentionally soft and flexible, allowing it to bend, fold and drape into different shapes as you wear it. Rather than the rigid cone of a costume wizard hat, this one has a relaxed, lived-in character.
The celestial print gives it unmistakable wizard energy without tying it to a particular character or costume. Wear it to a Renaissance faire, fantasy festival or Halloween gathering, or simply make it part of an everyday magical wardrobe.

The rayon-rich flannel has a wonderfully soft drape, allowing the long crown to develop natural folds and bends. Sweep the point backward, let it fall to one side, stretch it out dramatically or simply put the hat on and let it decide what sort of wizard you are today.

Because each hat is handmade and cut individually, the placement of the metallic stars will vary slightly. Every hat gets its own constellation.

Custom and personalized orders
Orders can be customized, changing a color or size or design. Orders can not personalized, do not have the proper equipment to add embroidery or vinyl. Sale prices do not apply to custom work, sales are only for existing inventory.
Sizing details
Most of my hats can be made in any size you can get me a measurement for. I do not make hats for babies or small children, these ages have special laws for the materials an other trims that can be used. I have made hats large enough to fit the mascot costumes of teams. More generally I have made hats that fit those with extra large heads.
Most of the fabrics I use are stretch fabrics so there is a little give in the sizing.
For measurement, measure around where you want the bottom of the headband to fit.

What do I need to do to have a customized item?
First off, send me a conversation detailing what you want customized. A change to the size, color, trim, or a different design.
I will contact you back within 24 hours.
We then have a conversation about what can be done.
I have a huge studio with over 500 bolts of fabric, plus trims and yarn, so I can generally turn around in 2-3 days since supplies are on hand.
Once we have worked out the details, I will make the item. Send you photos.
Once I get your approval, will then create a custom listing and send you a link.
Once the item is paid for will ship.
If the customization is minor, like switching a pompom for a tassel, I may just have you purchase the existing item with a note to seller.

How do I know my hat is a real Mountaingoth hat not a counterfeit?
Mountaingoth hats are only sold under the name of Mountaingoth, if you search the web and the seller is not Mountaingoth, it's a counterfeit.
Unfortunately there are sites that steal the photos of Mountaingoth hats from the web and set up scam websites claiming that they sell Mountaingoth hats, including stealing copies of reviews.
Can I change the trim on a hat?
Yes you can. Hats are generally trimmed at the time of shipping. So if you want to change the color of pompoms or tassels. Switch to a different style of bell. Want to leave the tips blank, just send a message. Note that some trim may have a surcharge.
I want to make a purchase of over $250 dollars.
Orders over $250 dollars are not accepted by Mountaingoth and will be canceled. The protection offered by Etsy only covers up to $250. If you wish to make a larger purchase, you will need to break it into smaller orders which are each less than $250, this is for your protection to stay within the limits of Etsy protection.
Is your name really Love?
Yes it really is my name. Married Mr. Love over 20 years ago and took his name. Funny how I'm always getting asked how to spell it.
